How do i change my major? and do i need to repeat a class?

ok wen i look at my profile of my account in my college website...its says my program of study is computer science..nd i had remembered tat tats wat i put wen i first applied and now i just finished my 1st sememster...where do i go to inform them tat im not going for tat anymore.

and also i made an F on my US history class ..but it still says i got 3.00 credit...do i need to retake it?How do i change my major? and do i need to repeat a class?
Speak to your counselor about both problems./

I'm changing majors... should I even try to finish my online pass/fail class?

This is taken from how the Univ calculates GPA:

All grades received during a student's enrollment (except the grades of W, P, Z, and F in a Pass/Fail course) are included in the cumulative GPA. Grades from other colleges are excluded.

It states that in F does not effect GPA. So the class I am in will not transfer over to my other major, so there is no harm in failing this class right?I'm changing majors... should I even try to finish my online pass/fail class?
It depends....do you plan on applying to grad school, or is there even a remote possibility grad school is in the future? If so, having a F on your record would not be a good idea....especially for a pass/fail class, since it means you couldn't even manage a passing grade (and some grad schools have their own method of recalculating GPAs to include W/P/F).

It's worth thinking about....I had a major career path switch in college (I decided to apply to med school), and all of a sudden grades mattered 10x more than they had for my original goals....and I thank the lucky stars I hadn't accidentally sabotaged myself back when grades ';didn't matter';.I'm changing majors... should I even try to finish my online pass/fail class?
From what info you have given, your F will not affect your GPA. But its better to try to pass that class anyways just so you dont waist your money or time.

How to change from major prep to skater chick?

im 15 and im going to a new school next year and im so sick and tired of always having to look perfect and skateboarding is soo fun can you give me tips on how to dressHow to change from major prep to skater chick?
instead of trying to dress skater, i have one tip for you. just try dressing YOU. it will be the best decision u make in high school. don't dress to a label such as prep or skater. one day if you feel like wearing jeans, converse, and a tshirt go for it. the next day if you wanna wear a sundress with flats go for that too. that's how i dress, and people love my style, trust me a little variety never hurt.

good luck =]]How to change from major prep to skater chick?
How about just being yourself?
Look at Lilly Truscott's dress sense from hannah montana..... She's a sk8er chik with awesome clothing!
hey

here is some links to wikihow which has whole pages on how to become skaterish. The trick is to also do this gradually. If you go from prep to one day to skater girl the next youll be called a poseur.

Picking out ahead of time what you want to be is a horrible idea. In some places you have no freedom to be who you want to, so take advantage of that. Be yourself

Should I change my major to become some kind of a teacher?

I am in an Algebra class right now and am the only one that knows what's going on. I am also the only male in class with about 10 ladies. Since the professor doesn't know how to explain things, they bunch up on me and ask for help. I have no problem helping out a bunch of women in need, you know what I'm saying? I am good at explaining things to individuals and now see that teaching women is my calling. Even though 2 or 3 of them were probably just flirting with me, I beleive that my message got through to the other 7 that were interested in learning. Should I invite myself to these women's houses to give them a ';pop quiz'; to see how much they've learned?Should I change my major to become some kind of a teacher?
LOL u r funny.... education for the ladies.. yea why not, if they like it, go for it!Should I change my major to become some kind of a teacher?
yep, you should be a private tutor.
im sure they would enjoy it
yes it is your civic duty
LMAO! Yeah, you're all about the ';pop quiz'; aren't you dude?
It's A LOT more than ';explaining things.'; Being a teacher means being a mother, father, brother and sister to hundreds of kids each with different personalities!

Everyday is different and teaching is so much more than being able to explain that days lesson. It's an underpaid job and if you are a good teacher you will never work the 7-3 work day....I am here until about 5 everyday and thats when I am not busy! Believe me, without the summer, teachers would burn out in about 2 years....
Yes you should but ummmmm i'm having a bit of trouble with my algebra stuff and i think i could use some private tutoring as well.....

  • I want to change my major to something more versatile perhaps marketing any advice?

I just recently graduated with my associate's degree in human services and while I like people I just don't have an interest in becoming a social worker or crisis counselor etc. I would like for my bachelor's degree to be in a field that is challenging yet very versatile. however, I am somewhat hesistant about majoring in business because I don't have a strong interest in numbers, complex math, and talking in front of large groups of people. I am someone who is capable of working in a team but prefers to work alone and I like work that is more behind the scenes. As far as doing work that involves research I prefer to do things such as designing a survey. Therefore, I was thinking of becoming a market research analyst but am worried about how I would do in courses such as accounting, finance, and sales. I took an accounting course in highschool and I did extremely well at level one but I struggled with level two and drop the class after a week. in spite of my fear should I try again?I want to change my major to something more versatile perhaps marketing any advice?
My major was in Advertising which contained almost identical coursework to Marketing. I think you are making out a business degree and working in business to be more difficult than it is. Public speaking is the number one fear everyone has so join the club. If you take business courses it is possible you will face an accounting course or two but that is it.

I would find a general field like Marketing or Education and go get that 4 year degree. A degree tells a future employer two important things: #1 That you are teachable and #2 that you can complete what you start. Many employers don't care what your degree is in but that you have one. They figure they will retrain you anyway.

Most people change majors several times in college and change careers several more times after they are out in the workforce. So just relax and don't worry that you need to make a lifetime decision right now.

I never ever had a job in Advertising but the fact I had that degree was very valuable.I want to change my major to something more versatile perhaps marketing any advice?
Marketing is not a great field its all sales jobs the pay is not very well either. A bachelors in marketing will get you a starting salary of $30,000, its not worth it. Get a degree in management or something related to the health industry (booming field).

P.S Anything you do thats business related marketing, management, accounting ect... will require alot of math which means (calculas and statistics) very tough courses.
Yeah, sounds like you should go for a Marketing Analyst or Sales Analyst type of job in a large corporate firm like Sony, Target, Apple, Microsoft, Disney, etc. These large corporations are fun to work in the sales %26amp; marketing departments becuase you can actually help the sales teams track products you know and use like Sony TVs, DVDs, Disney ticket sales and Household goods.

By taking a business degree you would cover your basis for any corprotion in the market place. Finance numbers come into play to help track Gross Sales and Profit Margins for the products in a given company.

    Need help, possibly changing majors?

I'm a fashion design major and I'm planning on transferring to the Fashion Institute of Technology. I don't know if this is a good idea considering how bad the economy is right now. I guess my real question is, will the job market still be this bad 3 years from now? Should I should pursue a more stable career temporarily and then return to design later on? Or should I just go for it?Need help, possibly changing majors?
I had the same problem deciding which degree I should keep (the one I liked or the one that will give me a nice paycheck) I talked to a couple of advisers and they recommended me to double major or get a minor. I think what you should do is to have a back up plan just in case the economy does not increase as we are all expecting. Sometimes it is not always convenient to follow your heart but your mind.

How hard is a biology major?

I am currently changing my major from Computer Science. I am having trouble deciding what to choose and started thinking about Biology. I had trouble with Calculus in my second semester and was wondering if Biology is hard and does it require Calculus or higher? I am currently a Freshman so I honestly have no idea what I should choose. How hard is a biology major?
It requires a lot of science classes, like a year and a half worth, plus elem stats and either pre-calc or trig.
