How do I assume a ';selected'; organization will go through a major change within 1 year.....?

I have to assume your selected organization will go through a major change within one year. Based on this assumption, prepare a 600word paper in which you explain the human resources planning and forecasting processes that will need to be utilized. In your paper be sure to a. Determine the forecasting approaches and (HR) employment practices that will be used and how they can be economically effective.

The assignment wants you to describe what will happen with human resources planning and forecasting when your selected organization is merged, maybe, with a larger company, or worse, has to lay off hundreds of people as a result of the recession.

Merging or being bought by a big company will cause some people to be laid off (the companies will call this 'eliminating redundancies'), and a big drop in revenues caused by the continuing recession will cause even more layoffs.

You could be more positive and describe an organization which produces a new thin-film solar panel that is inexpensive and gets huge orders from the military and some large companies to use on their own buildings. In this case you will need to hire and possibly train hundreds of people.

Leading indicators means economic data which show the rise or fall of the stock market, rise or fall of exports, and other economic data that affect whether or not a company decides to hire or lay off employees.
