I am attending a college and would like to change my major but the college dont offer it. What should i do?

I am going to a small community college and love it. I was going for nursing but the wait list is now two years and I dont want to wait. I have decided to change my major to physical therapy. How do I know what classes I should take to transfer to a college with physical therapy or should I go ahead and transfer to a different college when the quarter is over? I need information on how to become a Physical Therapist and what i should doI am attending a college and would like to change my major but the college dont offer it. What should i do?
I am assuming you want to become a PT, and not a PTA. If you want to become a PTA...hands down, you need to go to a different community college as soon as possible.

If you want to be a PT, your first step should be to go to the APTA website at www.apta.org where they have a list of schools that offer the physical therapist degree. Get an idea of where you might want to complete your graduate work. Then you can examine specifically what courses are required for entrance into that program.

Your next decision would be if you want to continue completing your gen eds and prerequisites at community college or whether you want to transfer to a four year university right away. Your finances will probably play a big role in this, but I usually recommend trying to complete your undergraduate degree at the same place as your graduate degree, if possible. This ensures your courses will count towards the graduate program.

In the end, you'll eventually need to transfer to a four year university to finish a bachelor's degree. You can have your degree in anything you wish, but you must also complete the prerequisite courses. Since this usually involves chem, bio, physics, psych and math, most students choose majors such as kinesiology, biology, health care sciences, etc You'll apply to the program usually your senior year.

Good luck.I am attending a college and would like to change my major but the college dont offer it. What should i do?
If your college does not offer the program you are interested in, the only option you have is to transfer. Find a school that does offer that program, get the list of classes that you will need. Then talk to your current adviser at your current school and see if there are any classes that you can take at your current school that will transfer over to that college. If there are then you can complete those at the school you are at now and then when you are finished you can transfer over and get your degree.

You definitely need to talk to a counselor from the college you're considering. Ask them what courses are needed and whether they will all transfer from your current college?

If they won't, then try another college until you find one that will transfer what you've already taken. The counselor can also tell you what it takes to become a PT... how many hours, which courses you need, etc... that's what they're there for, ask away!
transfer to a different school that offers it. If you are 100% sure that you want that major.
transfer to a skool that offers it and hope u get in.
