What does the pre-nursing route consist of at University of Houston?

And how long does it take to complete it? I am a junior at UofH and I've decided to change majors/career choices. So, since I just transfered fall 2009, I don't want to have to find another school, etc. But if pre-nursing at UofHwill take too long.... I will have to consider transferring to another school. What does the pre-nursing route consist of at University of Houston?
You can get a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from UofH in 3 semesters via an accelerated course track. So three semesters it the shortest time to get a degree. It's on the website.

I answered the question before you added details. And sorry I didn't realize you were incapable of looking at your own college's website so much so that someone else needs to lay everything out for you :-)

Can I change my major?

I've been accepted into Georgia Tech for computer engineering in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering as an undergraduate. I have until May 1st to enroll at Tech (and I'm most probably enrolling). However, I want to change my major from computer engineering to electrical engineering. How easy is it to change my major? How do I go about doing this? Can I change my major?
I think you sh be able to do that pretty easily. You'll just have to change it through the registrar office. You'll fill out a short form and that's it. It's even possible that you may have not officially gotten a major since you haven't enrolled. It's good that your thinking about your major know rather then wanting to change it junior senior year when you may find out your missing courses (not trying to sound meen here). I also suggest you talk to your adviser who sometimes is noneffective but they may guide you to the courses you should take but remember to talk only the facts seriously but the suggestions with a grain of salt. Suggestions are just that suggestions, you get to be in college once if your successful (for undergraduate) so make sure you make the best of it and define what you want it to be. Don't forget that in college it's always good to ask when you don't know something. No question is a stupid one (nobody will do the asking for you)

I hope this helped

Would I be crazy to change majors from Business (Finance) to econ at USC?

I know USC Marshall is a highly ranked business program, but I just don't feel that great about undergraduate business degrees...sometimes I just feel like I'm copping out. It's not that it's easy, and I could most likely get higher paying starting jobs with it than econ, but I don't know...it just doesn't feel right for me. So how nuts would I be to change to econ? What would I be giving up other than maybe a bit higher starting salary?Would I be crazy to change majors from Business (Finance) to econ at USC?
Actually, there are other universities that are more of a party school than USC.

I personally dont think its a crazy idea at all. USC's econ program is still pretty good and if you feel that econ is something that you are more interested in (and it fits you better) then change it. There is no use in majoring in something that you dont really want to major in. You can also get a good starting salary with a degree in econ too. Would I be crazy to change majors from Business (Finance) to econ at USC?
they actually have class at usc?

i thought all there is is parties there, yea it would be crazy, plus alot of mooney, but then again its something youll be doing for a long time so whatever you pick it better be a good decision

make sure you can love econ if that what you want to do

How do I make a major career change without sacrficing my lifestyle?

I'm currently working in automotive purchasing but want to do something completely different, say advertising or psychology. Short of selling my house and car and going back to school or taking classes at night for the next 6 years, is there anything I can do to get out of this? How do I make a major career change without sacrficing my lifestyle?
if you really want major changes in your life, not only in career, sometimes, there are thing that needs to be sacrificed, in order for you to achieve that goal! But with the sacrifices you've made, you can get that back after you reach your dreams. Just dont think of the trials / problems that comes in your life... for your experience, would teach you to face the trials in life, and i believe, you are strong enough to face the consequences and problems. just dont give up! Life is beautiful, dont focus yourself on your lifestyle alone... im sure, you'll get that done in no time. Good Luck! How do I make a major career change without sacrficing my lifestyle?
From your use of expressions like ';major career change';, ';sacrificing';, ';something completely different,'; ';for the next 6 years';, and ';get out of this';, I sense that you might have to do more research on the actual facts or determine more precisely your options.

I say this because the more precise the information you have, the better your decision will be.

Also, you mention going into either ';advertising'; or ';psychology';, which are two very different fields. I understand your interest in those fields, I'm actually fascinated too by advertising and psychology!

In terms of a career decision, I think you could benefit from creating more options and determining, for EACH option, the costs and benefits and the probability of success (for example, there are more jobs in advertising/marketing than in psychology).

A career decision is very much like a business decision: all the relevant facts must be in your hands before you are in a position of mental clarity and can make the best decision.

Good luck!

Woolworths here in Australia changed their corporate logo and Apple took them to court over a possible infringement of their apple logo.

I hope that is the type of thing you are looking for.

I want to change my major to history! How can I do this?

I want to change my major to history. I can't stand what I'm currently studying (paralegal) and I would like to continue school instead of working as a paralegal when I graduate in December with an associate degree in paralegal studies. I want to go on and get a BA in History. My dad doesn't support my decision and wants me to have a career as a paralegal because there are more job opportunities. I want to study history because it is my life and my passion, but I know that the job opportunities for history are extremely limited and I don't want to be a history teacher. I want to work at a historic site or in a museum. What should I do? My parents don't support me going into history, but I can't stand law! It's making me miserable! I'm having trouble staying motivated to even finish it for December. I have so much of it done that it would make more sense to finish so I'm trying to push myself to finish.I want to change my major to history! How can I do this?
Talk to a college counselor and they will set you on the right path. I admire your passion for I love history myself. My nose is always burried in a history book, lol. Forget about what your father thinks and go with what you want to do. Good luck.I want to change my major to history! How can I do this?
Go to your student advisor and let him or her know and you should be able to change without a problem.

    How hard is nursing school?

so im a sophomore in high school now but since its almost summer and ill be like a junior in a couple months, i was thinking of some majors that i want to do in college. and what really interested me was nursing school. maybe its still too early to think about majors, but at least i still have some thoughts. so i just want to know if nursing school was hard to get in. i want to go into Massachusetts School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) and i was wondering if its hard to get into nursing in that school. (great advice from those who went to that school). and IF i got into nursing school, would they like only take a certain number of students and like the rest who didnt get in would have to change majors? (because this happened to my cousin for pharmacy school, but i know pharmacy and nursing are two different careers; her pharmacy school only took 100 students out of 400 students.) and i failed a quarter of biology this year (our school has four quarters per school year). would this affect my admission chances into nursing school? How hard is nursing school?
I am not going to school for nursing. I was going to, but changed my mind. However my mother went to Nursing school and I know quite a few people who have. I do know that it is extremely difficult, more so than most fields. How hard is nursing school?
The nursing program is supposed to be extremely intense with a lot of information and concepts to be learned. Being strong in the sciences (anatomy %26amp; physiology, biology, chemistry, biochem) is typically necessary, too. Regarding nursing school admissions, it's typically very competitive and each program usually only has a certain number of seats available. You may already be aware but there are a few different levels of nursing including an associate (two-year) degree such as the one offered through the local community college to become an ADN (associate degree in nursing), bachelor's (four-year) degree to become a BSN (bachelor of science in nursing) and a master's (perhaps six years of college if attend on a full-time basis) degree.

    Many freshman entering college don't have a definite idea of what they would like to major in at school. It's okay if you would like to take different courses while at school and declare a major sometime later on :) Go with your passion is what career experts suggest. Farrah Gray, young male multi-millionaire and author of ';Reallionaire'; suggests asking oneself this question about a career path, ';What would I do for years and years to come and not have to get paid?';
